President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Coronavirus Disease Health Protection 2021, which makes the use of face masks in public places mandatory among other measures to curtail further spread of COVID-19.
Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, made this known today in Abuja.
He said the President signed the document in the exercise of the powers conferred on him by the relevant section of the Quarantine Act.
Part of the regulation stipulates that no person shall be allowed within the premises of a market, mall, supermarket, shop, restaurants, hotels, event centers, gardens, leisure parks, recreation centers, motor parks, fitness center or any other similar establishment except he or she is wearing a face covering that covers the nose and mouth, washes his or her hands or cleaned the hands using hand sanitizer approved by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control and his body temperature has been checked.
