The Kaduna State Police have arrested five hundred and three (503) suspects for various crimes ranging from banditry, armed cattle rustling, culpable homicide, vandalization of rail tracks, and other related offences.
Speaking to reporters while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters, Kaduna State Police Command spokesman DSP Muhammed Jalige said the individuals were apprehended between May and June 2023.
Jalige revealed that nine stolen vehicles of different brands, four AK-47 rifles, three revolver pistols, two pump action guns, 2,800 railway slippers, and other weapons were found on the suspects.
Also recovered were two tricycles, two hundred and nine rounds of live AK47 ammunition, one hundred and twenty rustled cattle, and eight sheep.
The police spokesman added that the apparent calm and serenity currently enjoyed in Kaduna State is evidence that the command is doing everything in its power to safeguard the lives and property of the state’s residents.
He reassured the public that the Kaduna Police Command is committed to making sure that criminal elements are unable to conduct their evil deeds throughout the state.
