Former Senator and PDP Chieftain in Yobe State, Mohammed Hassan has defected from the PDP and joins APC.
In a press statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, who is the Director General Press and Media Affairs to Governor Mai Mala Buni said that Senator Dambu made a formal defection in Abuja and was received by Yobe State Governor and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Mai Mala Buni.
According to the statement, the defection was witnessed by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, Senator Ibrahim Bomoi, the Minister of Power Engineer Abubakar Aliyu and the State APC Chairman, Muhammadu Gadaka.
According to him, the exit of the former legislator has created a huge vacuum to the opposition party at both the state and National levels.
He added that the movement into the APC will increase the fortunes of the party in Zone ‘B’ Senatorial District and the State.
