Pencom Set to Verify Prospective Retirees for 2023

Date:

The online verification and enrollment of retirees and potential retirees of Federal Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) will start on Monday, according to the National Pension Commission (PenCom).

Abdulqadir Dahiru, the organisation’s spokesperson, said in Abuja on Thursday that staff of MDAs who retire in 2023 are eligible for verification and enrollment.

“Employees of federal government treasury-funded MDAs scheduled to retire in 2023; employees of federal government treasury-funded MDAs who missed the enrollment exercises in previous years are qualified for the exercise. All retirees and prospective retirees are required to visit their Pension Funds Administrators (PFAs) to undergo the data recapture exercise,” he stated.

Mr. Dahiru added that in order to complete the data recapture, persons affected had to supply their Personal Identification Number (PIN), National Identity Number, and facts about how their Retirement Savings Account (RSA) was registered (NIN).

Additionally, he emphasised that retirees and potential retirees who had already participated in the data recapture exercise were exempt from doing so again.

“Self-assisted retirees and prospective retirees are required to visit PenCom’s website (www.pencom.com.ng) and upload their employment details,” the PenCom official said. “They are also required to upload scanned copies of required documents before proceeding to their respective PFAs for physical verification and enrolment. The step-by-step procedure for the online enrolment is hosted on the PenCom website.”

He further stated that retirees and prospective retirees unable to complete the online registration should approach the pension desk officers of “their respective MDAs or visit their PFAs for assistance.”

He also mentioned that enrollment and verification have to be finished by December 31.
