Nigerian Soldiers manning some strategic places in Ekiti State have arrested 105 men suspected to be political thugs as the Peoples Democratic Party, conducts its primary election in Ekiti State.
The keen-sighted soldiers arrested the hoodlums in the early hours of Wednesday realizing that they were members of the Oyo State Park Management System otherwise known as National Union Workers (NURTW) at Ita Awure/Efon Junction, Osun State.
Investigations were carried out and it was discovers that the hoodlums were on their way to disrupt the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Primaries, slated for Wednesday 26th January.
Several locally made guns, machetes, charms and other forms ammunitions were recovered from them.
On further investigation, it was discovered that the Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde was supporting the rise of a former governor of the state, Segun Oni while the immediate past governor, Ayodele Fayose was supporting the emergence of another candidate.
