NIGERIA LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS SUSPENDS EXPORTATION OF COOKING GAS.

Date:

Minister of State for Environment, Barr Sharon Ikeazor, has applauded the recent suspension of the exportation of cooking gas by the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) saying it will bring relief to forests and the ecosystems.

She welcomed the hundred percent domestic supply of the product, describing it as a courageous decision.

Ikeazor further noted that such a bold initiative will bring down the price of the commodity and the NLNG should be commended for its sensitivity and responsiveness to the plight of Nigerians.

She however reiterated that the decision will not only help in restoring the forests and in addressing some of the climate challenges in Nigeria, but will also facilitate the attainment of the nationally determined contribution and other aspects of the Paris agreement.
