South-East Leaders To Meet Tinubu For Kanu’s Release – Ubah

Date:

Since the leader of the IPOB has been imprisoned for close to two years, Ubah thinks that his release will contribute to a decrease in security in the South-East geopolitical region.
“There is a resolution that we are going to meet with the president and we will tick his leniency and see if it will be possible to plead with him to have Nnamdi Kanu released,” Ubah said on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday.
“We have taken that position, and for some of us in the Senate, we have our caucus, we have also taken that position.” When they are allowed to speak with the President, the lawmaker indicated that Kanu’s release will be a topic of conversation.
He insisted that there was a link between the IPOB leader’s release and the level of security in the South-East.
In addition, Ubah claimed that Kanu had openly stated his opposition to sit-at-home protests during one of his court appearances.
In addition, the lawmaker distinguished between Kanu’s agitation and the sit-at-home order, stressing that the recent upsurge in the sit-at-home order is impeding the expansion of the zone’s economy.
“The agitation is different; we are referring to stay-at-home, which is harming the southeast region’s economy. According to him, the protest is a political one concerning the disparities in how an Igbo guy is perceived in Nigeria.
Ubah also stated that the leaders of the South-East are thinking about cooperating with the Finnish government to investigate sit-at-home apologist Simon Ekpa.
“We also need to take a closer look at the young man who is generating all of this trouble in Finland and consider how we can discreetly engage the Finnish government and demonstrate to them that he is not performing well. Despite the fact that we are unsure if he has adopted Finnish nationality,” he stated.
The senator had previously warned Ekpa to take his crusade for staying home to his own state of Ebonyi and to leave Anambra State alone.
