Minister of Finance Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed has affirmed that the Federal Government is working in the right direction for achieving growth and development of the nation through the effective implementation of the 2021 budget, while also pledging better delivery in 2022.
Briefing Newsmen in Abuja at the ongoing Public Presentation and breakdown of the highlights of 2022 Appropriation Act, Mrs. Ahmed disclosed that this is the first time the federal government would record seventy-four percent of its targeted revenue since 2014.
According to her, the 2022 Budget is aimed at inclusive growth and deepening of the private sector development to improve economic activities among other issues.
She explained that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is fully committed to the wellbeing of citizens especially with the introduction of the National Development Plan (NDP) which was recently launched by President Muhammadu Buhari.
She further expressed optimism that with the adequate economic policies of the government, promotion of fiscal transparency and accountability is in view.
