The Kano State Hisbah Board has concluded arrangements to enforce a court order mandating the marriage of two popular TikTok content creators, Idris Mai Wushirya and Basira Yar Guda, following their appearance in viral videos deemed “indecent” by the Kano State Films and Video Censorship Board.
A magistrate court in Kano had directed the duo to marry within 60 days, citing concerns over moral conduct after videos of them surfaced online.
Speaking on the development, the Deputy Commander General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Mujahid Aminudeen, said the board had reached out to its Zamfara State counterpart to finalise discussions with the bride’s family in preparation for the wedding ceremony.
He disclosed that both individuals are currently undergoing drug, HIV, genotype, and other compatibility tests as part of the pre-wedding process.
Mai Wushirya was earlier remanded in a correctional facility after the videos went viral, with authorities describing his conduct with the female TikToker as “immoral and demeaning.”
The Hisbah Board reiterated its commitment to upholding Islamic moral values and public decency in Kano State.
