Independent Electoral Commission Dispatches Sensitive Election Materials to Katsina Ahead of Local Government Polls.

The Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) has dispatched sensitive election materials to the 34 Local Government Areas of the State ahead of Monday’s Local Government Elections in the State.

The Commission’s Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bako made this known while addressing newsmen shortly after dispatching the election materials at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Office in Katsina on Sunday.

Alhaji Bako said the materials will arrive in the Local Government Areas today for onward distribution to the Wards and Polling Units tomorrow morning.

The materials include Ballot Papers, Inks and Result Sheets.

Bako disclosed that over Nine Thousand Adhoc Staff of the Commission will conduct the elections for the over Three Million Registered Voters in the State.

He explained that 12 Political Parties will participate in the elections.

He however urged political parties and politicians to be peaceful in their conduct during and after the exercise and abide by the election guidelines as stipulated by the Electoral Act 2010 as amended.
