Haaland To City: Man City Agree Terms

Date:

Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation, Erling Haaland, a move that could prove frightening for rival teams.

In a club statement issued on Tuesday, the club confirmed they have “reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the club on 1st July 2022.”

The 6”4 giant striker acquisition would be a much-welcomed development as the club has been on a long hunt for a striker to replace Sergio Aguero, after failing to lure Harry Kane away from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

Haaland, whose rise to fame has been astronomical since he scored a whopping nine goals for Norway in their 12-0 thrashing of Honduras at the Under-20 World Cup in 2019, has been on everybody’s radar for the past couple of years.

The star striker has been relentless in his bid to stamp his name among world-rated strikers, scoring 85 goals in 88 appearances so far since his arrival at Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester City who recently suffered a sad exit from the UEFA Champions League after Real Madrid pulled off a stunning comeback at the dying minutes of the game at the Bernabéu, have long been looking to win the title to squash lingering doubts about their status as a big team.

Haaland’s deal has been met with excitement from City fans as many believe the striker’s goal-poaching ability could prove to be very impactful in their quest to establish their dominance across Europe.

Erling Haaland has suffered injury spells this season but still managed to score 25 goals in 26 games for Dortmund, helping them keep up with current leaders, Bayern Munich, in the race to clinch the Bundesliga title.
