Former Borno Commissioner for Poverty Dies in India

A former Borno State Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Nuhu Clark, has passed away in India after a protracted illness.

Dr. Clark, member-elect in the March 18, 2023 elections for Chibok State constituency in Borno State House of Assembly died while undergoing treatment on Monday, April 10, 2023, in India.

The State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information, and Culture, Babakura Abbajatau, who confirmed the development in an interview on Wednesday in Maiduguri, said the state government would soon make an official statement after speaking with the deceased’s family.

While mourning the deceased, Deputy Governor Umar Kadafur described the death as a huge loss to his immediate family, the people of southern Borno and the state.

Kadafur described the death as a great loss to the All Progressives Congress (APC), given his outstanding contributions to the growth and development of Borno. 

He commiserate with the immediate family of the late politician and prayed to God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Clark was a former commissioner for poverty alleviation before resigning on April 25, 2022, to contest the Chibok state constituency election on the platform of APC.
