Finalists, Orlando Pirates of the Republic of South Africa and RSB Berkane of Morocco will arrive in Uyo tomorrow, Wednesday, May 18, 2022, ahead of Friday’s final of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2021/2022 to be played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The Senior Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Sports and General Coordinator of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the final, Elder Paul Bassey, gave the confirmation on Tuesday, in Uyo.
“The LOC has established contact with the camps of both teams and I can confirm that the teams will be arriving in Uyo tomorrow,” Mr. Bassey said.
In a related development, the kick-off for the eagerly-anticipated final has been fixed for eight o’clock in the evening.
“As per the directive from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), I can confirm to you that kick-off for the match is at 8:00 pm and we at the LOC are perfectly poised to make it a memorable occasion that the entirety of Africa will be proud of,” Mr. Bassey added.
