Information and culture minister Lai Mohammed has called for registration and validation of All Progressives Congress to be cancelled in Kwara.
The exercise is ongoing, but Mohammed told a press conference in his Oro hometown that officials sent to conduct the exercise have violated the party’s guidelines for distributing registration and revalidation materials.
He also accused the committee of taking sides on the crisis rocking Kwara APC by sidelining major ‘stakeholders’ who worked for the election of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The crisis centres around a rift between AbdulRazaq and a group of party leaders led by Mohammed.
It recently escalated when Bashir Bolarinwa, who is loyal to Mohammed, was removed as the party chairman and replaced with Abdullahi Samari.
He called for new process to ensure credible and fair exercise that will enjoy public support and confidence.
