The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Isaac Robinson Ntekim, as the Auditor General of the State.
The approval followed a request made by Gov. Udom Emmanuel to the state legislature.
The approval came after the House sat as a committee to consider the report on his screening and presented by the Chairman, House committee on judiciary, Justice, human rights and public petitions, Victor Ekwere.
Ekwere said the committee observed that the nominee was competent, fit and proper for the position and therefore recommended for the approval of the appointment.
Meanwhile, a bill for a law to provide for the development of water sector, establishment of water corporation, Rural water supply and sanitation agency, water council and regulatory commission and waste water management and other matters connected therewith, had its first reading.
The executive bill which was presented alongside another bill for a law to make provision for the regulation of outdoor structure and advertisement in Akwa Ibom State and for other matters.
The bills were referred to the committee on rules, business ethics and privileges for rescheduling.
