Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno Orders Distribution of Seedlings To Farmers to Boost Food Security

Date:

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has directed the Ministry of Agriculture to provide seedings and other incentives to farmers across the state to enable them to cultivate food items this farming season.

Governor Eno gave the directive while addressing the congregation on the last day of the 3-day Statewide Crusade organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and Fathers-In-Faith For Good Governance in collaboration with the State Government.

The Governor maintained that the state being an agrarian state should not be caught up in the web of famine with its attendant effects on the citizenry and directed the release of food crops including vegetables, okro, and maize among others, to be implemented in the local government areas of the state.

Governor Eno commended the medical team led by the Commissioner for Health, Professor Augustine Umoh, and his Senior Special Assistant on Medical Services, Dr. Ekem Emmanuel for the excellent services rendered during the 3-days medical outreach complementing the crusade at the Unity Park, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.
