Akwa Ibom Government has ordered the revocation of lands acquired by individuals, groups, and organizations without proper development at Ibom Industrial Park at Mbak Itam in Itu Local Government Area with immediate effect.
The State Governor, Umo Eno who gave the order when he undertook an on-the-spot inspection visit to the area to ascertain its relevance for siting of industries, directed the Commissioner of Lands, Captain Iniobong Ekong (retired) to ensure that all lands within the industrial park area that have not developed to industries status be revoked.
ADBN Correspondent, Emmanuel Silas reports that Governor Eno however called on land owners with genuine proposals to develop their plots to forward such applications to the appropriate government agencies for approval and time frame for commencement of work.
Meanwhile, Governor Umo Eno has approved the commencement of work for a Health Centre and subsequent relocation of the health post currently situated at the Ikot Nkwo Village Hall to the new site in Ibesikpo Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Eno, while inspecting the health post and land donated to the State Government for the primary healthcare facility, commended the self-help efforts of the Ikot Nkwo community and their magnanimity in donating the parcel of land.
The Chairman, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Council, Akon Michael Asuquo, appreciated the governor for meeting the longtime yearning of the community, noting that the new health centre, upon completion, will be a healthcare haven for ante-natal, other women and children-related healthcare needs.
The Acting Village Head of Ikot Nkwo, Obong Ibanga Etukudo Enyieama, also commended the governor for the kind gesture and declared the total surrender of the parcel of land to the government, with assurances of community cooperation for the project to be executed.
