Federer Impresses Wimbledon Crowd from the Royal Box

Date:

As the eight-time winner visited the grounds of some of his greatest victories, Wimbledon paid tribute to Roger Federer on Tuesday.
The Centre Court audience applauded the Swiss great when he entered the royal box for a lengthy period of time.
Federer was visibly affected before settling up next to Catherine, Princess of Wales, having just performed on stage with Coldplay in Zurich over the weekend.
The 41-year-old has generally avoided tennis since announcing his retirement in moving fashion at the Laver Cup in London in September, although he received a similar accolade at the grass-court competition in Halle, Germany, last month.
For Elena, the euphoria beneath the Center Court’s covered roof nearly overshadowed the opening match of the title.
