Former United States President Donald Trump has expressed willingness to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying he “would love” to hold talks with him during his ongoing Asia trip.
Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One on Monday, Trump said he was open to extending his visit, which is scheduled to continue to Tokyo, to accommodate a potential meeting with Kim.
While no formal plans have been announced, Trump’s comments mark a renewed openness to engaging with Pyongyang amid lingering tensions over North Korea’s nuclear programme.
