Three persons have been confirmed dead following a collision between a cement-laden truck and a commercial tricycle (keke) at Nnung Oku Junction in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck was already ahead on the road when the tricycle attempted to overtake it.
In the incident, the tricycle allegedly veered too close to the truck and was crushed beneath it, resulting in the deaths of three occupants, including the driver.
One passenger, however, survived the crash and was quickly rescued from the wreckage.
The Police Quick Response Squad arrived after the incident, evacuating the deceased to a nearby morgue, while the survivor was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Traffic was briefly disrupted following the accident but was restored after the damaged vehicles were cleared from the road.
