SPAIN LEGEND ANDRES INIESTA RETIRES FROM PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL AT 40

Andres Iniesta, the revered World Cup-winning midfielder from Spain, has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 40.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in history, Iniesta earned 131 caps for the Spanish national team, scoring the decisive goal in the 2010 FIFA World Cup final.

Speaking at an emotional event in Barcelona on Tuesday, Iniesta expressed his intention to pursue a career in coaching.

The majority of Iniesta’s illustrious 22-year career was spent at FC Barcelona, where he graduated from the club’s renowned La Masia academy.

He made his senior debut in 2002 and went on to collect an impressive 29 honours, including nine La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies.
