The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to eradicating illegal and unnecessary bus stops across the FCT. This follows his inspection of ongoing bus terminal constructions aimed at improving public transportation.
During his visits to the construction sites at Kugbo and Mabushi, Barr. Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the contractors. He noted the rapid pace of work and emphasized that once completed, these terminals will offer FCT residents safer and more efficient transportation, putting an end to the disorder caused by illegal bus stops.
Speaking on the delayed bus terminal project in the Central Business District (CBD), the Minister clarified that the initial setbacks were due to the need to clear outstanding buildings. These issues have since been resolved, and the project is now moving forward smoothly.
It is worth recalling that on July 1st, Barr. Wike flagged off the construction of bus terminals at key locations in the FCT, stressing their importance for ensuring commuter safety and convenience in the nation’s capital.
