Vice President, Senator Shettima Emphasizes Protection of Sultan of Sokoto’s Throne Amid Alleged Deposition Plot

Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima has emphasized the significance of safeguarding and preserving the throne of the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar the Third, as a vital institution.

Senator Shettima while speaking at the North-West Peace and Security Summit in Katsina State, underscored the importance of protecting the Sultanate amid rumors of alleged plots by the administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State to depose the Sultan and other Traditional Rulers.

Senator Shettima, who addressed the audience shortly after the Sultan at the event on Monday, emphasized that the Sultan represents not only a Monarch in the North-West but also an enduring institution that must be defended.
