Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has approved the constitution of a Local Government Transition Committee by the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno.
Speaker of the Assembly, Udeme Otong gave the approval during Plenary on Wednesday after the Clerk House read a letter from the State Governor, Umo Eno seeking permission to set up a Local Government Transition Committee for six months.
Some members of the House who supported the request of the Governor noted that it is a democratic requirement for the growth of the state.
Speaker of the House, Udeme Otong further directed the Clerk to communicate the resolution of the House to the State Governor.
