INEC Declares Peter Mbah Winner Of Enugu Gubernatorial Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Wednesday, declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic party, Peter Mbah winner of the Enugu gubernatorial election held on Saturday 18th March, 2023.

Declaring the result, the returning officer, Prof. Maduebibisi Iwe said that Mbah of the Peoples Democratic party polled a total of 160,895 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party, who polled a total of 157,552 to come second.

Meanwhile, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Frank Nweke jnr polled a total of 17,983 to come third in an election that was keenly contested.

“That Mbah Peter Ndubuisi of Peoples Democratic Party, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” declared the Returning Officer, Prof Maduebibisi Ofo-Iwe, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike.
