Ramatu Kyari, the wife of Abba Kyari, the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, fell and slumped in the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.
Shortly after the trial, she collapsed on the ground. Justice Emeka Nwite postponed a decision on applications submitted by DCP Kyari and six other people charged with drug trafficking to be freed on bail awaiting the outcome of the case against them.
While armed officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) were escorting Kyari and others away from the court grounds, Ramatu, who was wearing a black Hijab, slumped to the floor.
She was quickly carried and rushed inside one of the offices on the third floor of the court by some officials of the NDLEA and lawyers.
One of the women in her company hinted that she was asthmatic.
