In Katsina, police hunt for and detain suspected notorious bandit informants and others.

The command’s recent successes in the continuous struggle against all types of crime and criminality in the state include the recent arrest of these individuals.
Based on reliable information, the suspects, both men, Mohammed Bello alias Dan Ali of Sabon Gari, Ikara LGA in Kaduna State, and Abubakar Mohammed of Kumbotso LGA in Kano State, were both apprehended on July 12 at around midday.
This was said on Thursday as the suspects were paraded before the Command Headquarters by ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the command’s spokesman.
The two allegedly arranged with one Gora, a prominent bandit’s leader hibernating in Zamfara jungle, and kidnapped their companion Salmanu after tricking and luring him to a location between Funtua and Zamfara state, according to Sadiq.

The command stated that the pair were located throughout the inquiry, detained in connection with the crime, and made a confession.
In a similar event, the command was successful in apprehending a reputed rapist who is also thought to have killed an eight-year-old girl in Kanon-Haki village in Katsina State’s Faskari Local Government Area.
Jibrin Yusuf, a 25-year-old man living at the same home, was reportedly taken into custody on August 2 at around 2:30 pm.
Following the girl’s alleged death with a sharp knife, the suspect allegedly carried the body to another countryside, covered it with leaves, and fled with three bags of fertilizer.

The truth of the matter, according to Sadiq, is that on that fateful day, Hassan Jibrin, the deceased victim’s father, hired the suspect to transport fertilizer from one of his farms to another that was located outside of the hamlet.
“The victim was assigned to guard the fertilizer at one of the farms while her father took care of some laborers. The suspect took advantage of this and forcibly pulled the little girl to a neighbouring farm where he raped, used a sharp knife, and butchered the victim. The corpse was then relocated to another countryside, where he covered it with leaves and fled with three (3) sacks of fertilizer.

Detectives acted quickly after receiving the information and were successful in apprehending the culprit.
The three stolen sacks of fertilizer were also found. “During the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the offence.”
In the interim, the command reports that it has been successful in apprehending Sadiq Abdullahi, a reputed motorcycle thief.
The citizen of Rafin-dadi quarters in Katsina city, who was 22 years old, was detained on August 7 at around 7 am while on a regular patrol.

“Nemesis caught up with the suspect when he was accosted by men from the command’s Anti-kidnapping Unit while on routine patrol along Katsina – Jibia road, in possession of a suspected stolen white Jing Cheng motorcycle (rubber rubber),” Saqid said.

The suspect admitted, “during the course of the investigation, that he had stolen the said motorcycle from Gafai quarters, Katsina, belonging to one Ahmad Lawal Babaye,’m’, of the same address.”In addition, he named Surajo Sani,’m’ of Magamar Jibia as the recipient of his stolen goods, Sani Abba alias Uban Shegu,’m’ of Kofar-Yandaka quarters in Katsina, and Hamisu Mamman,’m’ as his accomplices. The inquiry is still going on.
