2022: We Will Do More To Protect Nigerians, Despite Persistent Insecurity – Buhari

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has noted the persistent insecurity in certain parts of the country, which he said has threatened to unravel incremental gains in the real sector of the economy but assured that his administration is committed to pushing ahead, plans to move the country forward.

This was contained in his 2022 New Year speech.

President Buhari, while delivering his new year speech, explained that his regime is working with international partners and neighbouring countries to deploy multi-faceted solutions that will be targeted at addressing human security at the grassroots, before it leads to insecurity.

While commiserating with families who lost their lost ones in the cause of protecting the territorial integrity of the Nation against internal and external aggressors, the President further said Nigeria would continue to invest in the firepower needed to fight insecurity.

President Buhari therefore, affirmed that his administration has invested heavily in re-equipping the military in line with his earlier promise to tackle the challenges confronting the country.
