10TH ASSEMBLY: Sen. Akpabio Visits LP National Headquarters

Senator Godswill Akpabio, Senator Elect Representing Akwa Ibom North West has paid a solidarity visit to the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure at the Labour Party National secretariat in Abuja. 

Senator Godswill Akpabio said he is determined to secure the vote of the leadership of opposition parties ahead of the June 13 inauguration of the 10th Assembly. 

Senator Elect Representing Kano North, Jibrin Barau said the Akpabio/Barau ticket is blind to party affiliations and committed to working with other political parties in order to promote unity.

On his part, Labour Party National Chairman, Juilus Abure said it is usually uncommon for a political party in power to accommodate the opposition. 

He further said It is a strong indication that Nigeria’s democracy is growing. 

Dr Julius Abure however stated that the party’s reservation to the outcome of the presidential election has not changed as they are of the opinion the process of the election was marred with irregularities. 

He said the Labour Party will continue to seek justice through the judiciary system.
