Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will on Friday take on Burkina Faso in the final match of the 2022 WAFU B Under – 17 tournament in Cape Coast, Ghana.
Burkina Faso had defeated hosts Ghana in the competition’s second semi-final match on Tuesday courtesy of a 64th-minute second-half penalty kick converted by Ousamane Camara.
The results of the semi-final matches mean both Burkina Faso and the Golden Eaglets will compete in next year’s Under–17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Algeria.
The Golden Eaglets had fought hard and overturned a one-goal deficit to beat Côte d’Ivoire 3 – 1 in the first semi-final match on Tuesday thanks to two brilliant free-kicks by Emmanuel Michael, and a beautiful header by Abdullahi.
