Unreleased music and concert plans belonging to American superstar Beyoncé were stolen from a rental vehicle in Atlanta last week, just days before the start of her “Cowboy Carter” tour stop in the city, according to a police report.
Atlanta police said the theft occurred on July 8 and involved a car used by Beyoncé’s choreographer, Christopher Grant, 37, and a dancer. Grant reported returning to the vehicle to find its rear window shattered and several items missing, including luggage and multiple jump drives containing sensitive tour material.
The stolen items reportedly included “watermarked music, some unreleased tracks, footage, show plans, and setlists — both past and future.” An Apple MacBook, headphones, and luxury clothing were also taken.
Authorities tracked the location of the MacBook and headphones to a nearby area but did not recover any of the stolen property at the time of reporting.
Atlanta Police confirmed that a warrant has been issued for an unnamed suspect who remains at large.
The theft came just ahead of Beyoncé’s Atlanta performances, part of her ongoing “Cowboy Carter” stadium tour, which began in April following her Grammy-winning country album of the same name. The tour highlights Black artists in country music and marks a major genre shift for the multi-award-winning artist.
Beyoncé concluded her four-night run in Atlanta on Monday, with the final stops of her tour scheduled for later this month in Las Vegas.
