The Two-Brigade Army and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) in Akwa Ibom State have pledged to enhance security measures and rehabilitation programs for offenders across the state. This commitment follows a recent meeting at Mbiokporo Cantonment, with representatives from both the Army Command and the NCS in attendance.
Brigadier General Jafaar Ibrahim, Commander of the Two-Brigade Army, welcomed the NCS delegation, affirming the critical role of continued collaboration to ensure the safety and security of the community. He emphasized the army’s dedication to maintaining peace and strengthening efforts to counter crime in Akwa Ibom State.
CC Frank Okonkwo, the newly appointed Controller of Corrections for Akwa Ibom, praised the partnership’s potential to bolster inter-agency cooperation, acknowledging the army’s commitment to safeguarding residents. Okonkwo, who assumed his role on October 11, 2024, expressed optimism that the enhanced partnership would benefit both agencies in achieving their shared goals of security and effective rehabilitation.
