Delegations from Team Australia, Brazil, Argentina, and Kenya have become the inaugural arrivals at the Olympic Village for the 2024 Summer Games in Paris.
Situated in North Paris, the village spans approximately 54 hectares and is designed to accommodate nearly 14,500 individuals, including 9,000 athletes at its peak.
The Olympic Village comprises approximately 80 buildings, featuring amenities such as a 3,200-seat dining hall offering cuisine from around the globe, a 24-hour fitness center, a 3,500 square-meter polyclinic, a multi-faith center, and a mini-market.
President of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Thomas Bach, who attended the village’s opening ceremony, commended the preparations for the Paris Games, describing the Olympic Village as splendid and stating that all necessary elements for a successful Olympics are in place.
He highlighted the venues as not only stunning but also of the highest standards.
The 2024 Olympic Games will begin on the 26th of July and end on the 11th of August.
About 10,500 athletes from 206 national Olympic committees around the world and the IOC Refugee Olympic Team will compete in 329 events of 32 sports.
