Super Falcons forward Monday Gift has been named the Spanish Liga F Player of the Month for February, following her outstanding performances for UDG Tenerife.
The 23-year-old striker scored two goals in three league matches during the month, playing a pivotal role in her team’s victories. She found the back of the net in Tenerife’s away wins against Sevilla and Valencia, showcasing her clinical finishing and attacking prowess.
Monday has been in exceptional form this season, netting 10 goals in 18 league appearances for Tenerife. This marks the first time she has received the prestigious individual award, further solidifying her status as one of the league’s standout talents.
With this achievement, Monday joins an exclusive list of Nigerian stars who have won the award, including Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Edna Imade. Ajibade was the first-ever recipient of the honour.
