Senator Agom Jarigbe, representing Cross River North Senatorial District, has announced a temporary suspension of his legislative and constituency responsibilities due to health-related issues.
In a statement released on Monday, Senator Jarigbe disclosed that he is undergoing medical treatment and, following medical advice, will be stepping away from official duties for a brief period. As a result, an endorsement rally that had been scheduled in the coming days has been postponed.
“This is a necessary pause, and I am having proper medical attention. God willing, I expect to fully resume my responsibilities within the next two weeks or even sooner,” the senator stated.
Emphasising the importance of prioritising his health to ensure effective representation, Jarigbe expressed gratitude to his constituents for their prayers and understanding.
“No mortal is immune to health challenges. This moment reminds us of the fragile nature of life and the need for compassion,” he said.
He also urged the public to ignore political narratives attempting to ridicule his current condition, calling instead for empathy and respect. “Let us not lose our shared sense of humanity in the name of politics,” he added.
Despite his brief absence, the senator reaffirmed his commitment to development in the senatorial district and encouraged constituents in need of urgent healthcare assistance to contact his constituency office during the period.
