Senate President Akpabio Hosts Senators to Iftar, Promotes Unity and Religious Harmony

Senate President Godswill Akpabio hosted Muslim senators to an Iftar dinner at his official guest house, marking the breaking of the Ramadan fast. The event also saw the attendance of Christian senators, symbolizing unity and religious harmony within the 10th Senate.

In his remarks, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin expressed gratitude to Akpabio for the gesture, noting that it has become an annual tradition since Akpabio assumed office as Senate President.

Senator Adamu Aliero, representing Kebbi Central, praised Akpabio for his generosity in hosting the Iftar and prayed for God’s blessings upon him. Similarly, Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central, highlighted the divine significance of Ramadan and Lent coinciding this year, emphasizing the importance of unity and mutual respect.

In his response, Akpabio thanked his colleagues for honoring the invitation and prayed for continued unity during the holy seasons of Ramadan and Lent. He also sought divine wisdom for President Bola Tinubu to bring peace and stability to all parts of Nigeria.

The event underscored the Senate’s commitment to fostering unity and religious harmony among its members, reflecting the spirit of togetherness in the 10th National Assembly.
