Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries has reacted to the scandal involving a former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice were accused by the London Metropolitan police of alleged organ harvesting and sued in a UK court.
The couple were accused of bringing a minor into the United Kingdom with the aim of harvesting his kidney for a transplant for Ekweremadu’s daughter, Sonia, who is currently suffering from a kidney problem.
Reacting to the scandal, Apostle Suleman prayed that God protects Ekweremadu’s daughter. In a chain of tweets, the clergyman wrote: “Heard about the travails of the former deputy Senate President, may God see him through. May God protect their child and spare her life.
“Thank GOD for preserving the life of that minor who was to be used.
“May God help them to do the right thing. This too shall pass!”
His prayers however sparked some outrage on Twitter with many accusing him of apologising for the shameful act carried out by the senator and his wife. Responding to the criticism, however, Apostle Suleman said, “Even a confirmed thief on the cross, Jesus prayed for him.”
The case involving the senator however is yet to be concluded.
