NPA Urged to Boost Infrastructure and Revenue as 2025 Budget is Defended

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Ports and Harbours, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, has called on the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to enhance port infrastructure and increase its contribution to national revenue generation and employment creation.

Speaking during the NPA’s 2025 budget defence at the National Assembly, Hon. Nnaji described ports as the “economic heartbeat” of any nation, stressing the urgency for Nigeria to fully harness the potential of its maritime assets.

Presenting the agency’s performance, NPA Managing Director Abubakar Dantsoho disclosed that the Authority surpassed its 2024 revenue target by generating ₦894.86 billion, and contributed a record ₦400.8 billion to the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF).
