NIGERIAN FOOTBALL LEGEND, PETER FREGENE PASSES AWAY AT 77

Peter Fregene, the former Green Eagles goalkeeper, has died at the age of 77.

The sad news was confirmed by ex-international and close friend, Segun Odegbami, who revealed that Fregene passed away after a prolonged illness, with his wife, Tina, and two of his children by his side.

Fregene, a standout player for Nigeria in the 1960s and 70s, represented the country at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico, earning admiration for his exceptional reflexes and resilience on the field.
