Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reaffirmed their commitment to resolving challenges faced by Nigerians seeking UAE visas, particularly tourism visas.
This commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed AlShamsi, to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, in Abuja.
Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu emphasized the strong diplomatic ties between both nations, highlighting Nigeria’s longstanding partnership with the UAE.
In response, Ambassador AlShamsi expressed satisfaction with the progress of Nigeria-UAE relations, which have spanned over five decades. He reassured that efforts were being made to improve visa accessibility, noting that since assuming office in Abuja, he has facilitated visa issuance for both government officials and private individuals. He further explained that private visa applications are currently processed through an appointed agent.
This development signals a renewed push to strengthen diplomatic and travel relations between both countries.
