Nigeria is set to host the Africa Infrastructure and Climate Change Summit (AICIS) 2025, a high-level continental forum aimed at crafting actionable solutions to the pressing challenges of infrastructure development and climate resilience across Africa.
The announcement was made at a press briefing in Abuja, coordinated by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Speaking on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, the Permanent Secretary of the Political and Economic Affairs Office, Engr. Nadungu Gagare, FNAIE, emphasized that Africa must no longer be viewed as a passive recipient of externally imposed climate solutions but as an active architect of its own sustainable development.
Chairman of the AICIS 2025 Planning Committee, Hon. Moses O.T. Owharo, also addressed the media, outlining the strategic objectives of the upcoming summit and highlighting Nigeria’s pivotal role in leading continental dialogue on climate action.
AICIS 2025 is expected to attract participation from across Africa and beyond, reinforcing Nigeria’s commitment to fostering collaborative and homegrown strategies for a greener, more resilient continent.
