NAHCON Refunds ₦301.56 Million to Kebbi Pilgrims

Date:

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has refunded ₦301.56 million to 4,936 pilgrims from Kebbi State who participated in the 2023 Hajj, with each pilgrim receiving ₦61,080.

Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Faruku Enabo, disclosed this during a meeting held to address the refund process. He confirmed that the funds had been deposited into the agency’s account for distribution to the beneficiaries.

Enabo explained that the refund complies with NAHCON’s directive to compensate pilgrims for services not rendered during the Hajj exercise.

“Upon receiving the funds from NAHCON, I informed the governor, who directed me to initiate the refund process with the chairmen of the 21 local government areas acting as witnesses to confirm transparency,” Enabo said.

He urged the council chairmen to oversee the process to ensure all affected pilgrims receive their funds. He further assured that security agencies would monitor the exercise to prevent any irregularities.
