Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, has announced his retirement from tennis at the end of this season.
In a video message released on Thursday, Nadal acknowledged the difficulties he has faced in recent years, particularly over the last two seasons.
The 38-year-old tennis icon will make his final appearance for Spain at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga this November.
Nadal’s illustrious career has been plagued by injuries, causing him to miss the 2023 French Open.
Nadal captured his last French Open title in 2022, finishing his career on the Paris clay with an impressive 112-4 win-loss record.
