MINISTRY OF EDUCATION REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

Dr. Sani Gwarzo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting tertiary institutions in fostering accountability and strategic planning. This pledge was reiterated during a one-day Strategic Interactive Engagement for Heads of Beneficiary Institutions.

Represented by Mr. Zubairu Abdullahi, Director of Special Duties, Dr. Gwarzo underscored the importance of advancing research, innovation, and capacity-building within institutions to align with the sector’s growing demands.

In his welcome address, Architect Sonny Echono, Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, emphasized the need for a robust funding mechanism to meet the rising demand for quality education. He advocated for a focused and constructive engagement to set operational priorities.

The event also provided a platform for education stakeholders to share insights and reflections on how to further strengthen Nigeria’s tertiary education system.
