MILITARY ELIMINATES KEY TERRORIST LEADER MAI HIJABI IN TARABA STATE

The Nigerian military has confirmed the elimination of notorious terrorist leader Mai Hijabi, who had been leading attacks and terrorizing communities in Taraba State. The operation, which took place this week, successfully neutralized Mai Hijabi and his combatants on the battlefield.

This was disclosed by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, during the biweekly media briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. He highlighted that the Armed Forces of Nigeria have intensified their military campaign against insurgents through the mobilization of lethal forces and precision air strikes.

Maj. Gen. Buba emphasized that troops are maintaining momentum and proactively taking the fight to the terrorists, underscoring the military’s resolve to eradicate threats to national security. He also acknowledged ongoing security challenges faced by some communities and assured that the military is reassessing operations to enhance the protection of citizens in these areas.

The Defence Media Director appealed to residents for their cooperation by providing timely and credible information to strengthen the military’s counter-insurgency efforts.
