Real Madrid star forward Kylian Mbappé has been discharged from hospital following treatment for gastroenteritis, the club confirmed.
The 26-year-old had missed Tuesday’s training session due to a high fever and was subsequently ruled out of Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Al Hilal in their FIFA Club World Cup opener in Miami on Wednesday.
With Real Madrid set to face Pachuca in their next Group A fixture on Sunday, Mbappé’s participation remains uncertain. If he is unable to recover in time, he is expected to return for the final group game against Austrian side Salzburg on June 26.
Gastroenteritis, commonly referred to as a stomach bug, is a viral or bacterial infection of the gut, typically causing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal discomfort.
