Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has denied report that he has contracted COVID-19 virus and was now in isolation, where he is receiving treatment.
The Minister, who is among those reported to have contracted the virus within the Presidency, refuted the report in a statement on Sunday by his spokesman, Segun Adeyemi, noting that he does not have COVID-19, hence he was neither in isolation nor receiving treatment anywhere.
Also reacting to the claim that he is ill, Mohammed said he is hale and hearty, adding that he had taken the two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
He urged the online newspaper behind the fake news, in the best tradition of journalism not only to retract the publication but also to apologise to him for causing him such embarrassment.
