Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has dismissed reports claiming he plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the speculation as “false, malicious, and a huge joke cracked by the most uninteresting political comedians.”
Governor’s Firm Rejection of Rumors
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, the governor strongly refuted claims linking him to a purported coalition being formed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other politicians.
“I am made in APC, by APC, and for APC,” Governor Idris declared. “I will be the last man standing in this party, not a political prostitute jumping from one party to another.”
He likened the rumors to “mad fellows dancing naked in the marketplace,” stating that he only responded to clarify the situation for his supporters.
Loyalty to APC and Kebbi People
The governor emphasized his unwavering commitment to the APC and the people of Kebbi State, who he said remain solidly behind the ruling party.
“He cannot and will not abandon his people to embrace political strangers,” the statement read, reaffirming his dedication to advancing President Bola Tinubu’s policies in the state.
