Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State was involved in a road accident on Sunday along the Daura-Katsina Road while on official duty, his media office has confirmed.
In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Mohammed, the incident was described as minor, with the governor sustaining no serious injuries.
“I’m pleased to confirm that I remain in good health and high spirits,” Governor Radda stated in a brief address at his residence following medical observation. “By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident—but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed.”
He expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah for divine protection and thanked the people of Katsina and well-wishers for their concern and prayers.
The governor also appeared in a short live video from his residence on Sunday evening, where he reassured the public that he was under routine observation to ensure his health was stable.
The state government did not release further details regarding the cause of the accident or the condition of other passengers, if any.
