INEC Sets August 18 for Nationwide Voter Registration, Online Pre-Registration Opens First

Date:

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise for 2025 will commence on August 18, starting with online pre-registration.

In a post on its official X handle on Friday, INEC revealed that online registration will be available from August 18 through its dedicated portal, cvr.inecnigeria.org.

According to the commission, in-person registration at INEC offices across the 774 local government areas and other designated centres will follow a week later, beginning August 25.

The physical registration will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, INEC said.

“Your votes start with registration. Don’t miss your opportunity to register,” the electoral body urged eligible Nigerians.

INEC also reiterated its warning against underage and multiple registration, stressing that violators would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
